Phone Number Validator

Check if a phone number is valid in seconds. Enter any number to see whether it fits its country's numbering plan, what type of line it is (mobile, landline, VoIP, toll-free), and how to store it in the international E.164 format.

Try it out.

Numbers starting with + use their own country code. Otherwise we use the country you pick.

Why validate phone numbers?

Bad phone numbers waste SMS spend, burn SDR time on dead dials, and clutter your CRM. Catching them when they're collected costs far less than finding them later.

sms Stop paying for failed SMS
Texts to landlines and invalid numbers still cost money. Check the line type before you send.
call Fewer dead dials
Give your sales team numbers that can actually ring, instead of typos and made-up entries.
dynamic_form Cleaner signup forms
Reject "555-5555" at the form and store every number in one consistent E.164 format.
shield Less fraud
VoIP and premium-rate numbers are common in fake signups. Flag them before they reach your funnel.

What does this phone validator check?
It checks the number against its country's official numbering plan: whether the length and prefix are valid, which country it belongs to, and what kind of line the range is assigned to (mobile, landline, VoIP, toll-free and so on). It also formats the number in E.164, the standard most CRMs and SMS providers expect.
Does it check whether the number is active?
No. A number can be correctly formatted and still be disconnected. Live line checks and carrier lookups need carrier network data, which is what we're building for bulk phone validation. Join the waitlist to get early access.
Is the number I enter stored anywhere?
No. The check runs entirely in your browser. The number is never sent to our servers.
How accurate is the line type?
It reflects the type of the number range as assigned by each country. In countries where mobile and landline numbers share ranges (like the US and Canada) it shows "Landline or mobile," and numbers ported between carriers keep their original type. A carrier lookup gives the current answer.
Can I validate phone numbers in bulk?
Not yet. Bulk phone validation with carrier data is coming to Truelist on the same credits as email validation. Join the waitlist and tell us your volume.
